Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you have to be a member of Cathedral of Hope United Church of Christ to have your wedding at the Interfaith Peace Chapel?
A. Both members and non-members may schedule weddings at the Interfaith Peace Chapel. To qualify for booking the facilities as a member, you must have been a member of the church a minimum of three months prior to submitting a request for a wedding date. The bride(s), groom(s), and/or parents of the bride(s) or groom(s) may book the facilities for a wedding.

Q. How far in advance can a wedding be booked?
A. Due to the number of events and ministries that take place in this space, we can take reservations for the facilities no more than twelve months in advance. We do not keep a waiting list or receive applications earlier than twelve months without written approval from the Senior Pastor, Cathedral of Hope, United Church of Christ.

Q. How do you schedule a wedding?
A. To schedule a wedding at the Interfaith Peace Chapel you will need to contact the Interfaith Peace Chapel Director or 214-351-1044 x3 to check and secure the date. The next step would be to complete and return the Service of Marriage Application and Facilities Use Agreement Forms. Send the completed application along with a 50% non-refundable deposit to:

Interfaith Peace Chapel
5910 Cedar Springs Road
Dallas, Texas 75235-6806

Upon receipt of your application, it will be submitted for staff and calendar approval. The agreement will be countersigned and returned to you with receipt of payment. After your wedding date has been confirmed, you will then have an appointment with the event coordinator to discuss wedding and special event guidelines.

Q. Can you have a minister who is not on the Interfaith Peace Chapel staff perform a ceremony?
A. The pastors at The Cathedral of Hope United Church of Christ perform wonderful wedding ceremonies. However, ministers who are not on the staff are permitted to officiate wedding ceremonies at the Interfaith Peace Chapel.

Q. Does the Interfaith Peace Chapel have facilities for wedding receptions?
A. There are several areas where you can have a wedding reception. However, not all areas are available for each wedding time that is offered. Please ask your event coordinator which rooms will best fit your needs and accommodate the number of expected wedding guests.

Q. Can I use my own vendors for my event at the Interfaith Peace Chapel?
A. All vendors must provide a certificate of Insurance (with a minimum of $1,000,000 liability) to the Interfaith Peace Chapel and Cathedral of Hope prior to beginning work on the property.

Q. When do weddings take place at the Interfaith Peace Chapel?
A. Weddings are scheduled in the Chapel at the following times: 11AM; 3PM; 7PM

Wedding rehearsals usually occur the day before the wedding. Weddings are not scheduled on Sundays, during church-wide events, or on holiday weekends. For weddings that do not take place in the Chapel, please discuss your requests with the event coordinator.

Q. How much does it cost to have a wedding at Interfaith Peace Chapel? What is included in the fees?

  • An event coordinator who will organize and facilitate your wedding rehearsal and ceremony
  • Facilities for your wedding rehearsal (based on one hour)

Q. Can you have a reception at the Interfaith Peace Chapel or Cathedral of Hope following your wedding ceremony?
A. Yes. There are several areas that are wonderful for wedding receptions. Because of limited space, they are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is an additional fee required when having a reception at the church. Interfaith Peace Chapel and Cathedral of Hope do not provide catering services. A list of preferred vendors will be provided upon request. All vendors must provide a certificate of Insurance (with a minimum of $1,000,000 liability) to the Interfaith Peace Chapel and Cathedral of Hope prior to beginning work on the property.
